Motorcycle Repair: 1986 fxrt w/fairing and saddlebags, fxrt, lowering kit

1. What is required to replace the fxrt front fork leaky air  suspension to go to a conventional fxr type  lowered 1 1/2" ?

2.  What will be the status of the belt drive and rear saddle bags for a lowering of the same for the rear suspension?   1 1/2 "

Answer
For the forks you would have to change the fork caps to non air type. to lower them you have to get a lowering kit which will have shorter springs and spacers.
If you lower the rear, the only thing you need to worry about is the rear tire hitting the fender on hard bumps, especially if you are riding 2 up on the bike.
