Questioni have a honda shadow spirit 750.recently the heat indicator light came on briefly.the bike did not seem overheated i stopped and restarted the light stayed off.i noticed the fan was not running,question is,should the fan be running all the time or just when the heat of the engine gets high.tks in advance for your answer

-there is a thermostatic switch that turns
the fan on between 180-216 F degrees
and off again between 200-207 F degrees.
-The switch is screwed in the radiator tank
and you can hook the wires (green/black?)together
to check the fan. If the fan runs okay then
you know your switch is faulty.
