Motorcycle Repair: 1999 1200 sportser, tank valve, petcock

I am not getting fuel to flow out of the tank valve to the carb fuel supply line.When I loosen the two screws that hold the shut off valve cover fuel flows out from there.What could be causing the blockage? Thanks Bob

If you are trying to get fuel to flow without the bike running you are not going to, unless you hook a vaccumn pump up to the vaccumn valve on the petcock. It will only let fuel flow when the bike is either cranking or running. If its not flowing when the bike is cranking or running, then check your line going to the fitting at the petcock as well as the other end. If it still doenst work then you need to replace the petcock
