Motorcycle Repair: 1980 yamaha rd400, yamaha rd400, friction plates

the engine sounds great at idle,when running through the gears sometimes the engine revs high but the power is not being delivered,clutch? using tranny fluid in the gear box,also had a complete rebuild done,doesn't have as much power since the rebuild done

sounds like the clutch is slipping,
check the adjustment, give the cable
some slack. It might need new friction
plates at the least. The metal plates
can sometimes be cleaned up if not warped
badly.
