Hi Mark,

I replaced the oil filter of my Suzuki GZ125 bike recently. Now I discover below the oil filter cover is always oily after I reach the destination. I tried re-tigthen the oil filter cover but this doesn't help.

How could I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance,
YC

Hi YC,

Remove oil filter and check for condition of o'ring. I've discovered two o'rings, no o'ring, and warped surfaces on oil filter bases. You may have similar problem or it could simply be loose. If in doubt, replace oil filter.

Respectfully,
Mark Shively

Thanks Mark,

Will the o'ring given this problem since the oil filter is new?

YC

Answer
If tightening doesn't stop the leak and you're sure this is the source of the leak, replace the oil filter. Try and get an exchange or your money refunded from the place of purchase.

P.S. The o'rings are actually flat, round bands (seals).
