Motorcycle Repair: 83 shadow - running lights good, no turns, turn signal switch, clutch side

Question
just replaced a bad ignition switch on an '83 shadow 750. ignition works fine, running lights are fine. have checked fuse for turn/horn - fuse is good. high/low beam switch on left (clutch side) bar works fine. when turn signal switch is activated, inidated side's running light goes out, but does not flash. checked wiring connections inside headlight bucket and at switch in housing on bar.

Answer
K,

-you can check for power on the
orange wire for left signal and light blue
wire for the right signals.

-if you have no power on either side
check for power to the flasher relay and also (with
the signal switch on) the grey wire that leads from the flasher
to the handlebar signal switch.

-also check that the green wires are grounding
the signals.

-you can check the front signals making
sure you have working bulb filaments for the
running light and signal on each side.

-the signal switch directs the power from the
flasher grey wire to left or right signal light.

-the flasher justs switches power on and off
to the grey wire when the circuit is completed
through the signal light.

-so you need 12v power to the flasher, a good flasher,
good wiring to the signal switch,
a good signal switch, good wiring to the signal
lights, good bulbs, and a good ground. That's all! ;)
