Motorcycle Repair: STATOR/ROTOR, stator rotor, metal shavings

Question
94 Evo motor
How do i get the compensating sprocket nut loose cant seem to break it loose, the problem im having is stator/rotor is busted up inside if i turn motor over by hand i can hear all kinds of grinding behind rotor ,when i opened up primary i found some metal shavings and what looks like to be small pieces of magnet but i just cannot get the bolt off to get in there ,also what would you recomend as replacement parts.

Answer
to get the compensator nut loose you need an impact wrench. Sounds like wht is happened is the a magnet has come loose. There are several companies out there that make them. Check online catalogs. Try V-twin manufacturing, Bikers Choice Etc. They now make rotors that the magnets are inclosed, so you will not have this problem in the future
Good luck and happy riding
