Motorcycle Repair: 1971 Honda CB350 Neutral Switch, 1971 honda cb350, engine case

Question
Hi there! I recently experienced a strange problem with a 1971 Honda CB350's neutral switch. Normally when i see a malfunctioning neutral switch it stays on all the time, or just doesn't come on. This problem is neither. The light goes out when the bike is shifted down into first. That's all it seemingly goes out for though. N-1-2-3-4-5....steady light. I am not sure whether there is an adjustment on it somewhere or if it's even a common problem with this model. I hope you can help me out with this issue.

Answer
Andrew,

-It sounds like the switch is stuck or the wire
is shorted somewhere to ground.

-The switch is under the left engine cover, should
have a wire on the end of it. You can inspect
it or replace it. It screws into the engine case.

-The shift drum in the transmission
has a little bump on it that grounds
the neutral switch when you are in neutral
and turns on the neutral light.
