I need to know what is the firering order for a 1981 yamaha XJ550

-each coil fires two plugs, so hook one
set of coil wires to cylinder 1 and 4,
the other coil to cylinder 2 and 3.

-when sitting on the bike, number one cylinder
is on the far left.

-That is the only order that matters.
-It fires 1 and 4 at the same time and
then fires 2 and 3 at the same time.
-Whichever cylinder is on compression
at that time will fire.

-If one set of coils has an orange wire,
that set is usually on 1 and 4 cylinders.
