Motorcycle Repair: 07 roadking, ray fowler, exceleration

Question
My question is the same as asked by someone to Ray Fowler on 4/18/2007.

My RK has 2300 miles but the noise is not new.  After the bike is substantially warmed up noises are heard when passing or throttling hard.  the only way for me to describe the sound is to compare it to the clicking one hears when a bike is shut down after a long ride.  the cooling of metal clicking.  But, the noise is heard when the bike is running and under load to pass a slower vehicle or just general hard exceleration on the highway.

My dealer did not hear the noise but I don't think they let the bike warm enough.  I don't hear the noise unless the bike is ridden awhile.

Answer
Sounds like you are hearing pre-ignition since you stated that its under hard exceleration.
Make sure you run hi test fuel in your bike. You might ry riding the bike for a while and then go to the dealer and have them ride it as soon as you get there, so they can hear it
Good luck and happy riding
