Motorcycle Repair: Turn Signals, turn signal switch, signal relay

Question
Both my front and rear turn signals no longer work on my 1990 Suzuki VS750 Intruder.  The front lights work but neither the front nor back turn signals now work.  I have checked the bulbs and and the fuses and they are good but am not sure if it is the actual turn signal switch in the handle that is inoperative or the turn signal relay assembly that may went bad.  Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot from here without just simply replacing the parts.

Answer
Hi Joe,

I recommend getting a copy of the service manual. Review the procedures for testing suspect circuits and circuit components.

I suspect a loose connection or corroded switch contacts. Trace voltage through the circuit, check electrical connectors, and test signal relay.

I return tech files by email however, there was no email address with your question as requested.
