Motorcycle Repair: 2001 Ninja, horn button, shively

Question
I have a 2001 Ninja and I tried to upgrade the stock horn to a louder after model one. The horn was connected using the stock wiring and worked for a short period. After a couple of uses it stoped, I thought for some reason the new horn was broken so I re-installed the stock one and that one would not work as well. I am wondering if there is a relay or fuse that may have blown and where it could be. I have done some investigating myself and found that the is no power going to the horn when using a voltage checker. I disconnected the battery and main relay thinking it would reset itself but that did not work either. Any information to get this fixed before the sesaon would help. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Josh,

The horn circuit is protected by the Main Fuse. You'll have to trace the horn circuit and find the source of the problem. I suspect the horn button contacts may be corroded.

Trace voltage through the circuit. Where it ends is the problem.
