Motorcycle Repair: Speedometer calibration, speedometer calibration, calibration service

Question
Hi,
I have a 1977 Honda 750 4K with 39500 miles. I would like to know how to calibrate the speedometer. When I'm riding at 70 MPH (riding beside a car), the speedometer shows 75-78 MPH. The Odometer is accurate to the tenths with the car. (116 mile ride with both the bike and car odometers reset at the same time.)
Thanks for your help.

I would like to have your reply sent to my email address - Thanks

A:  Speedometer calibration is performed at the factory when the part is manufactured. I know of no dealerships that perfrom calibration service. You may find a specialty shop that performs such services.

I would have replied to your email address as requested, but there was no email addy with your question as requested. Even though you provided AllExperts with an address, they do not provide their experts with your address.
