QUESTION: the check engin light was on as well but after restarting the car the check engin light went off. there are no messages showing

QUESTION: Thanks for your help. this is not a question just a response. All we had to do was unhook the battery for about 10 minutes and everything reset.
AnswerI wanted to see what codes were in the computers and if there were no CURRENT codes stored in the computers I would have instructed you to disconnect the battery for approx 15 minutes.
But since you skipped the part of seeing if there were any current codes in the computer, Apparently there was none, Lucky for you, and all you had to do was disconnect the battery.
Had you had a CURRENT code stored in the computer disconnecting the battery would not have solved your problem.
