Motorcycle Repair: Honda H 100 SJ died and doesnt start, troubleshooting procedures, shively

Question
I had had the bike ticking over for about five minutes, i then rode it for about 200m and as i stopped and changed down the bike died. I had previously been experiencing power loss in the bike. The bike no longer starts and i have checked fuel is getting to the carb, my air filter is clean and the spark is working. When I try to bump start the bike i get something but not a lot and it dies again within seconds. Also the battery is too small and doesnt provide a great deal of power. Im new to bikes so dont really know what im doing. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Phil,

It's difficult to accurately dignose the problem from the description provided. The carburetor may be varnished and need thoroughly cleaned. It could be some other problem.

I recommend having a local tech inspect the problem for you. Get a copy of the service manual. Follow the troubleshooting procedures.
