Motorcycle Repair: 1992 honda cbr600 f2 wont start backfires, honda cbr600, problem pages

the other day my cbr started to run kind of puttery that night it would turn over but not start. i tried to turn it over the next day and it backfired but did not start. I read your carb clean 101 I was going to try that, if theres anything else you can add that would be helpful thanks mark mjswick@hotmail.com.

Hi Mark,

Before cleaning the carburetors, check the condition of the spark plugs. Visit "www.ngk.com" and click "Spark Plug 4-1-1 " Read the "Plug Problem" pages. Compare your plugs to those imaged there. Clean or replace accordingly. Remember to mark the plugs with which cylinder they are removed from. 1-2-3-4 numbered left to right when seated on the MC.
