Motorcycle Repair: Yamaha choke, check fuel, check oil

Question
Mark,
I tipped over my 1989 Yam FJ1200 on its right side (in my driveway).  Nothing seemed wrong at first and it restarted with a little effort and spilled gas.
Two days later I tried to start it and it would not turn over.  Battery and elec seem fine, makes correct sounds, it just wont ignight.  The choke is stuck in the down (off) position.  It still smells a little gassy.  I looked to see if the choke was stuck under the seat area but it seems fine.  What to do?  Did I flood it?  Wouldn't it drain in 30 mins if I did...?
Any ideas before I have it towed to the repair shop.

Answer
Hi Karl,

Remove spark plugs and inspect. Clean as needed and reinstall. Replace plugs if necessary. I suspect they mave have become wet fouled.

Otherwise, you'll have to perform some checks and see if you can find and problems. Check cylinders for flooding, check fuel pump, air box for evidence of fuel, check oil for presence of fuel (oil level may be slighter higher in severe case).

Respectfully,
