Motorcycle Repair: yamaha, yamaha 1100, prefrence

I have a Yamaha 1100 Classic and would like to take off the passenger seat.  If I do, That leaves hole in the fender from the removal the clamp.  What can be done about the holes?

 That's really an estetic question.  You may be happy w/ a simple plastic or rubber plug or decide to go all out and weld and grind a patch and repaint or rechrome.  Sorry I can't be of much practical help, kind of a personal prefrence question.
