Motorcycle Repair: Stripped Thread, rear swing arm, time serts

Question
I have a 1998 Yamaha R1.  I stripped a thread in an insert of the rear swing-arm.  The swing-arm is braced from above and there's a small "mud-guard" that is attached by three bolts.  The brace is hollow, but there's an insert with threads that holds each bolt.  I stipped one of these inserts (don't ask how).

The bottom two threads still remain.

I want to be able to use the same bolt as before so there's no visible difference.

Can a heli coil be used on this insert? I was hopeful that the insert could be removed and replaced, but I don't see this insert on Yamaha's parts list.  It appears the insert is pressed in at the factory.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for your time and comments.

Answer
Hi Jim,

Sorry to hear about the damaged threads. It happens to the best of us.

I would have to see the parts to say if Heli-coil is the right choice. I prefer to use Time-Serts whenever possible. A much stronger and cleaner looking repair.

You'll have to decide which approach to take as I cannot see what you have.
