Nissan Repair: Gears, nissan sentra, air control valve

Hi, my 1991 Nissan sentra takes off when i put it in reverse. I let the brake go and it zooms back like I was hitting the gas. It has happened 6 times in the past month. Can you help me identify this problem? Thank You Lori

If it only happens in reverse be sure and have the motor mounts inspected for one or more being broken.

If it happens in both drive and reverse then it would be throttle body related and that would require cleaning and adjustment of the throttle as well as the idle air control valve being replaced.
