Nissan Repair: Broken sensor key, locksmith program, stop gap

Question
Hello sir,
I hv a Nissan primera 2.0, i got it as a second hand vehicle, so i was not given a spare key. Before now i never knew i was using a sensor key until it got broken and i hv to replace it. Now i cut the exact shape of the key which i was using to start the car, but i found out that the car dies down after starting, until i now confirm that it's using a sensor key.
Pls i'm somehow disturb, i hv call in technician to look at it but i wouldn't know if they are telling me the truth or they know actually what they are saying, i use the internet a lot so i decided to use this medium may be i can find a relieve.
In a simple language, how can i get my car up and working again, it can't start with any other key except it's own, pls give me a guiding idea, i know i will still engage technician to do it for me.
Thank u sir.

Answer
Rotimi,

The key was coded and the new key is not.  You have to have a dealer or a locksmith program the key to the car.  You should be able to start your car with the old broken key close to the dash where the key goes in the ignition.  Check out that as a stop gap measure until you get the new key programmed.
