Nissan Repair: Nissan Terrano Lights, nissan terrano, headlight switch

Hi,
I have a 1996 Nissan Terrano with which both the park lights only operate when the main front lights are on.
Any ideas greatly appreciated,

The same relay actuates the parking lights in both positions.  I am pretty sure the headlight switch is the issue.  There are multiple contacts in the headlight switch.  If you want to you could remove the switch and take the unit a part and file the contacts for the parking position and see if they work.  This would work for a short time.  But, if that does the trick you will need to replace the switch.  The contacts will not last after being sanded.  A fingernail file works great to sand the contacts.
