Nissan Repair: clutch hydraulics 97 Nissan pickup, clutch hydraulics, clutch release

Question
Vehicle has 188k on original clutch.  Recently the pedal offered some unusual resistance then acted as though it was disconnected from the clutch.  Just as suddenly it worked fine again.  Within a week, the clutch stopped working altogether.  Could it be the hydraulics?

Answer
Bob,

It could well be the slave or master cylinder.  But, it could be that the clutch release arm and the pressure plate fave failed.  Either the arm came off or the springs have failed on the pressure plate.  I know I would check the master and slave before I removed the transmission.  But, with this kind of mileage it would be a good idea to replace it anyway.
