Nissan Repair: nissan water pump, nissan pickup, waterpump

Hi Calvin,
    My name is Jared and I believe I need to do a water pump on a 90 Nissan pickup 3.0 v6 rwd. The coolant is leaking out underneath the crankshaft. and around the the oil pan in that area.  Could you tell me if Theres anything I should be aware of. Do I simply remove whats in the way and replace waterpump and thermostat with sealer. Thanks for the help Calvin
