Nissan Repair: 97 nissan pickup egr valve stuck, egr valve, vacuum hose

Question
it is the egr valve on exhaust stuck or malfunctioning, bad gas mileage and check engine light on, advanced auto read out said egr valve, is this eaasy for me to replace and where is it located on engine thanks

Answer
Hi Mike -

The EGR valve is connected to your exhaust pipe or manifold, close to the engine. Look for a 1/2" pipe that connects between the exhaust and the intake manifold. At the intake side, you will see a round device with a vacuum hose attached to it. This is the EGR. Depending on accessibility, you may need some special tools, but it should be relatively easy to replace. Ensure the engine is cold when replacing.

Hope this helps -
