Nissan Repair: 2005 Pathfinder interior fan, motor bearings, anchorage alaska

Question
I just pulled my 55,000 mile pathfinder behind a U-haul truck from North Dakota to Anchorage, Alaska, the Nissan was up off the road the entire 4 day trip. When we got to Anchorage we immediately washed the grime off but within 2 days my heater fan started squealing then completely died the next day. Do you think it is the fan itself that needs replaced or could it be something else? my back heater works perfectly but I cannot defrost my windshield or feel any air from the front vents.

Answer
Mike,

The blower motor up front needs to be replaced.  This is a problem with the motor bearings drying up.  Replace the motor.  These things just happen.  Now, you might even have something that made its way through the outside air vent that is blocking the fan so remove it to be sure before you replace it.  If there is anything blocking the fan it should fall out when you remove the fan.  It is under the passenger side of the vehicle.
