Nissan Repair: Distributor..., mass airflow sensor, new distributor cap

Question
I previously asked the 'other' guy, Calvin, a question about my 1995 Nissan Sentra. I have been having issues with it running. It seems to do fine until it warms up (to norm op temp). Then it start to studder...it happens when the RPM's reach anywhere from 1000 to 2500. The more I step on the gas, the more it sounds like it's going to die. I've replaced the fuel pump and injectors, with no improvement. I also replaced the Mass airflow sensor. Also no improvement. I then purchased a new distributor cap and rotor, replaced those and now it won't even start. I don't know what to do next...I'm basically working from the repair guide that I have and need a little assistance...PLEASE HELP!!!

Answer
Angel,

I would check the converter to see if it is partially melted. I know it sounds strange.   But, you can remove the converter and look into in to see if the material is partially melted.  If so, replace it.  The other thing it could be is the distributor itself.  The car is old and the distributor shaft seal fails and oil wicks up and gets on the optics.  Disassemble the distributor.  Remove the cap, rotor, rotor post and cover and look at the optics.  Those are the two most common things that will cause the car to do what it is doing.  You already replaced the injectors and mass airflow sensor so what I describe costs no money to check so check them out and email me back and let me know what you find.  And, so you know the injectors and mass airflow sensor are the two things that cause a melted converter.
