Nissan Repair: 94 Maxima coolant leak, crank pulley, coolant leak

Question
Hello, I have a 1994 Nissan Maxima, that has recently developed a strange coolant leak.I can't see where it is actually coming from. From under the car (passenger side), the drips are coming off the bottom-most crank pulley close to oil pan, but from the top of the engine, it does not appear as though there is any coolant dripping down the side onto it. It is very strange!
The drips are coming off if you run the engine; After you stop the engine, there are only few drips for a couple of minutes and it will be stopped.
Sometimes no drips at all after running or stopping the engine.

Answer
Hi Soren -

This sounds like the water pump. It is located right in the center of the engine behind all the belts and pulleys, and it is run by the timing belt.

Best thing is when replacing the pump, replace the timing belt as well. It has to be removed anyway.

Hope this helps -
