Nissan Repair: 1994 Nissan Quest Power Steering problem, nissan quest, steering wheel

Question
Yesterday I was driving the Nissan and it was fine. I parked and went in a store, came out and started to leave and my steering wheel would barely turn. It was extremely stiff, but I made it home. Since it was so sudden, can I assume it was the pump gone out or something else?

Answer
Teresa,

Open the hood and inspect the powersteering belt.  There are two on your vehicle and the one that runs the powersteering is the one that runs the pump.  It is at the back of the right side of the engine and very low.  You should see two belts.  One on the alternator and the other on the powersteering.  I would almost bet the pump is stuck and the belt is thrown.  EMail me back and let me know.
