Answer
Hello Jermain Clark:

>>Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you.
>>If this is an Older Model Engine, then it May have Point Set Ignition and the Point Set Contacts may Require Polishing or Replacing.
>>It is Rare for a Coil to go Bad and Usually if the Engine has a Solid State Ign Coil, it is the Ign Portion of the Coil that goes Bad and Not the Coil Section. The Solid State Ign Coils have to be Replaced as a Complete Unit as the Ign Module is made as a Part of the Coil.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
