Hi, i have been told that the autos in these are weak or subject to problems?
have also been told to fit a type of cooler for the transmisson fluid`? what do
you think on general maintenence for this gearbox? thanks

I would fit a Hayden 404 cooler on the outlet side of the radiator cooler for the transmission.  This line is the cooler of the two that connect to the radiator.  Then, cut the line and run the cooler in front of the radiator and return the hose to the other end of the line you cut.  Use a tubing cutter so you do not introduce shavings to the system.  I would say all automatic transmissions are time bombs and will blow eventually.  But, a cooler will help them to last much longer as will changing the fluid every few years.
