Nissan Repair: Burning smell on 1999 Nissan Altima, nissan altima, rubber type

Question
This morning when I started my car I noticed a burning rubber type of smell coming from it.  It also seemed to idle kind of hard.  I checked and all the fluids seemed fine and the oil had been changed on April 3. I could look down and see a rubber belt on the left side and it looks fine.  As I drove to work it seem to get better.

Hi Monica -

It may be that some oil got on your exhaust manifold, or a popular thing is a plastic bag could have gotten under your car and burned on the exhaust pipe. Being that the car is running fine and the smell is gone, I would not worry about it. If it returns, or gets worse, let me know -
