Nissan Repair: Nissan Pulsar 96 Lx Stereo Replacement., philips screwdriver, nissan pulsar

Question
I am looking to replace the factory tape deck with an aftermarket cd player, and I have tried getting into the front dash to remove the factory deck. But to no avail, i was just wondering if you could tell me what needs unscrewing, unclipping and various undoing to get the deck out and things i need.

 Thanks heaps, Dan.

Answer
Hi Dan -

Most in dash stereos are held in place from behind the dash. To get to it, you will have to remove the plastic shrouds surrounding the equipment. All it takes is a philips screwdriver (maybe a 7mm socket) and some patience. Removing the console shroud will open it up quite a bit and you will probably be able to access it from there.

Before starting your project, though, ensure that your new CD player fits into the cavity you are about to create, and you can secure it somehow.

Hope this helps -
