Nissan Repair: 98 Nissan Maxima wont start, nissan maxima, power mirror

Question
I have a 98 Nissan Maxima that has started every time for the past 10 years.  Three days ago, I hit a mailbox in the ice storm and knocked off the driver's side power mirror.  There are four wires exposed.  The car continued to drive fine.  This morning, the engine  won't turn over at all! The battery seems fine.  I even recharged the battery just in case.  Could the broken power mirror have anything to do with the car not starting 3 days later?  Thanks, Lyn

Answer
Lyn,

The impact could have damaged the battery internally or the alternator.  The mirror wires should not cause you problems unless they are shorted.  If it were me I would tape the wires individually to rule out the mirror shorting to ground.  You do not say if the car will turn over or if it just clicks.  So, try to jump the car first and see if that works.  Email me back with more and I will try to narrow this down for you.
