Nissan Repair: 98 maxima, neutral safety switch, fuel pump filter

Question
QUESTION: I'm having problems starting my car most of the time I need to pop the clutch to start it I have change the alternators, starter, complete tune-up, battery, thermostat, fuel pump, fuel pump filter, I don't no what to do now him really pissed can you help me.

ANSWER: Manni,

I assume that means you puch start the car since the starter will not make it turn over?  If this is the case and the car will not turn over on its own I would check the neutral safety switch and see if that is the problem.  Jump the starter with a length of wire and if the car turns over replace the neutral safety switch.

QUESTION: ok I change the neutral safety switch and still the problem remains

Answer
Manni,

If the starter will not turn over when the key is turned and you have replaced the starter and the neutral safety switch you will need to check the starter by using a jumper wire to see if the starter will turn over on its own.  Be sure the car is in neutral when you check it.  If the starter turns over then you are going to need to check the starter relay and if that checks good check the ignition switch itself.  The starter relay is under the hood in the relay box.  Switch it with a like relay from another position and that is how you can verify that it is good.  If the car will still not turn over pull the lower column and check the harness going to and coming from the ignition switch.
