Nissan Repair: 2003 Nissan Pathfinder wont start, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft sensor

Question
2003 Nissan Pathfinder will start but turn off within seconds. Dealer replaced defective camshaft sensor and installed new battery. Noticed Check Engine/Service Soon light was still on after they supposedly fixed it. Mechanic said he forgot to reset the service light. Truck started with no problems but after 1 week I noticed the fog lights weren't working and a few days after that - same problem. Truck would start for a second or two and stall. I am terrified this is a major electrical issue that cannot be fixed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer
Chrisoula,

First, what was the code that was set in the computer?  This would help with the analysis.  If an engine dies it is either spark or fuel.  Back to the basics.  You could have a defective relay to the fuel pump or the pump itself is heating up and the lact of fuel could cause the engine to die.  Second, if they cam position sensor was replaced it could be that they were supposed to replace the crankshaft position sensor instead.

The foglights are unrelated or should be unless the car has had some work done that would have effected them.  I would go to the battery first and look at the positive terminal and make sure all the fuses and fuse links are in good order.  Next, is the fuse block to make sure that all fuses are not blown.  Lastly, look at the relay boxes and replace the relay for the foglights with a new one.  Now, stranger things have happened and I have seen where both foglight blubs have blown close to the same time and went through everything else listed before I found the bulbs needed replacement.  Let me know how it goes.
