Nissan Repair: overdrive button, nissan terrano ii, climbing a hill

I have nissan terrano II. I Would like to learn, when I could use overdrive button and how can I use it. Should I press overdrive button while climb the road or not.I Want to

I will be very glad if you give me more information about using (Nissan-terrano II)overdrive button.

Leave the overdrive on unless you are climbing a hill and the car will not stay in overdrive.  Then turn it off.  Leave the car in overdrive unless you are towing something and the engine is being lugged.  Then turn it off.  Leave the overdrive on unless you are driving really slow, like in traffic, and the car jumps in and out of overdrive.  Then turn it off.  Otherwise, leave it on all the time.
