Nissan Repair: transmission, overdrive transmissions, automatic overdrive

98 frontier xe 2wd,runs fine will only shift into overdrive when i let off gas pedel,then it will shift back down(to 2nd )  when i push it down it down again.had transmission rebuilt 30k ago for same problem.

It does not look promising as it is doing the same thing again and these automatic overdrive transmissions are known for this.  I bet the overdrive is slipping and it forces a downshift when it slips and it does this when you press on the gas.  If you coast it works in high gear and as soon as you press it does it again.  I am sorry that I could not be of more help.  But, you seem to know what it did before and it is there again.  When you rebuild it you might think of getting a transmission cooler to augment the cooling to make it last longer.
