Nissan Repair: Throttle potentimeter circuit, throttle position sensor, potentiometer circuit

Question
I have a Nissan Primera 2.0 SLX Estate, 1992.
Yesterday the engine control 3 fuse kept blowing and the car would not start.
The self-diagnostic test reported the throttle potentiometer circuit as faulty (code number 43).
After mingling with the fuses the problem disappeared. However, I still get the same error code when running the test.
What might the problem be and how can I locate it? Do you think it will be wise to use the car until the problem is fixed?

Best regards,
Erik

Answer
Erik,

Change the throttle position sensor and check the wires going to it to make sure none are cut or damaged.  Then disconnect the battery to clear the code.  Wait five minutes and hook the battery back up.  After three ignition cycles the car should be fine.
