Nissan Repair: 2000 Nissan Xterra check engine soon, nissan xterra, gas milage

Question
I have a 2000 Nissan Xterra with 70K miles on it.  The other day, my "Check Engine Soon" light came on.  I took it in to the mechanic and had them tell me the codes for this malfunction.  They said it was a code P0180 (fuel temp sensor A-curcuit malfunction) and a code P0325 (knock sensor #1 malfunction-bank 1 or single sensor).  What does this mean?  What types of repairs am I looking at?  Sometimes my SUV does idle high and it's been getting bad gas milage, but I had chalked that up to the tires needing rotated and balanced.

Answer
Dee,

I would have them replace the knock sensor as this is a common problem.  On the fuel temperature issue I would have them describe what they intend to do to correct it.  I bet the knock sensor screwing up was causing the engine to run hot and that caused the other code.  It could be possible that the fuel pump was going out and if the fuel was low it could cause the problem.  So, you might be looking at a fuel pump.  Email me back and let me know what they say.
