Nissan Repair: overdrive light, shifting into overdrive, loose wires

Question
I have a 1999 altima.  Yesterday the "overdrive" light stopped lighting up when I engage the button.  I have checked the fuse and looked around the transmition for loose wires and do not see anything "out of the ordinary".  Is there something different I should be looking for?

Thanks,
Rob

Answer
Rob,

The light might just be burnt out.  You can tell if the transmission is shifting into overdrive by getting the car warm and driving over 45 miles an hour.  Now, press the button and if the car downshifts you know that overdrive is working and you just need to replace the bulb.  Check it out and email me back.
