Nissan Repair: Transmission/Engine??, static timing, intake hose

Question
I have a 95 Nissan PU 4x4 Automatic with a 3" lift kit, when driving to work one day the engine shut off after 15 min of driving, when i pulled up to enter the highway. After restarting the truck its seemed to drive fine until i came into town to any speed below 1/3 throttle. The engine started to kick and want to shut off again, and did several times.I was within 1 mile of the tranny place were i had 6 months ago had my reverse gear fixed at,so i left it with them. They had to warm the truck up for at least 15 min to duplicate the problem. They told me that the tranny was not the problem with the truck.Since then i have had some other people take a stab at it ,but with no luck. It revs up in P and N,but when in drive when you hit the pedal it dies.I really don't like going to the dealer, but if i have to i guess i will. And if this is a tranny problem shouldn't the first place have picked this up? Very strange,at least to me--

Answer
Jo,

Check to see if the intake hose is cracked and opening up the crack when you put it in drive and load the engine.  If this is not the problem I would be checking static timing like to see if the timing belt has jumped a tooth.  Email me back with what you find.  I would not think the transmission could do this.
