Nissan Repair: 1993 Nissan Pathfinder 3.0L V6 SE, high voltage transformer, nissan pathfinder

Question
I was driving yesterday and the motor just stoped. The "CHECK" lightened up on the dash board. THe fuses are all ok, the relays ok, the fuel fump it's ok and it has plenty of gas. The engine won't start, i can hear it turning, but there is no spark from the sparkplugs. I've pulled the plug that goes from the distributor cap to... i don't know the word (high voltage transformer? i don't know if this is correct) and while the contact was on i've moved the plug to the mass and there was a spark between them and the fuel injectors started working for a while. The biggest problem of all is  i cannot get proffesional help because i'm in europe and this ia a genuwine american car. Thanks for your help, maybe you can find an electrical scheme for me. Thanks again

Answer
Nicolescu,

Check to see if there is power to the coil when the key is in the start position and in run.  If there is no power replace the ignition fuse and relay.  If there is fire then you need to look at the distributor.  If there is oil on the optical pickup you will need to replace the distributor.  If you are in Europe you could go to rockauto.com or courtesynissan.com and have one of them ship the parts you need.
