Nissan Repair: nissan radio, nissan frontier, isolated ground

Question
I just installed a new amp and speaker in my 98' nissan frontier. After i installed it my radio dosen't work. I checked all the fuse and they were all good. I did cut the power line, but I reconnected them and still nothing. What maybe the problem?

Answer
Chris,

Unless you used line converters on the speaker wires to connect the system to the amp you probably are not going to have sound.  I would disconnect the amp from the stereo wires and get a line converter to connect it to the amp.  On the power side of the house be sure that you did not change any of the wires as the nissan uses an isolated ground and when the key is off a wire looks like ground and when it is connected it becomes power.  Check for this if the line converter does not do the trick.
