Nissan Repair: 99 Nissan Frontier XE 3..3l v6 xmiss fault, nissan frontier, xmis

Question
My trk had no trbl codes (obd II) - has 91k miles and in xlnt cond.  Today (no eng.lt.) but the xmis. is now making a hard 'shoving shift' from 1st to 2nd (auto. xmiss).  Runs fine in all other and o.d. in 'D' also fine.  Recent chg. of fluid and filter cleaned.  4wd in all pos. is a.o.k. I also have a new prob. code. "Eng.Knock Sensor, or circuit faulty"

She shifts fine if am making a turn, L or R, makes no diff. Please advise.  John in FL

Answer
Check the motor mounts to see if one is broke.  If you make a turn and it does not shift hard you are looking at a bad mount.

Replace the knock sensor as they go bad and yours is about at the age they fail.  Unless you have rats eating your wiring you should not have bad wiring.  Yours does not fall into the category where Nissan had some bad pins so I really think your knock sensor is defective.
