Nissan Repair: 1995 Nissan 200SX SE, nissan 200sx, 1995 nissan 200sx

Question
I have a '95 200SX that's been sitting on the side of my house for a year now.  I am having some trouble with starting.  The problem is that my battery cables were corroded, so I replaced both the positive and negative cables.  This was a mistake, since I am not very knowledgeable in car repairs.  Anyways, I have to leave the battery disconnected all the time now, because when I don't, the car makes a noise like it is constantly trying to turnover, but it never starts, just keeps on trying.  The car was actually working for about a week, but then is sat for a week, and I went to start it up, and it started up, but then I went to turn it off, and it kept on making the noise that it does now.  What do you suppose is the problem.  I am hoping to get it fixed this week, but would like to see if I can find out what is sounds like it wrong.
Thanks,
Jason

Answer
Jason, If you start it up and it runs and then turn it off and it acts like its still trying to run.  It would be your timing.

Your timing is off.  If you have a timing light you can fix it yourself.  Just refer to your owners manaul for the proper timing set.

But if your not that machanicly inclind you might want to go to a shop and have them fix it.
