Pontiac Repair: Odometer Reading, center pod, pontiac grand prix

Question
I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with a 3.8 in it. Recently, the little "circle" panel that is on my dash that displays the date and mileage(along with alerts) has went completely blank. What's the best course of action to take to get it fixed? Thanks so much!

Answer
Hi Paul:

that was a pretty common issue with those back in the day. it's either in "logic lock" or it went bad. if everything else on the car works fine and no ther issues then try this just disconnect the battery cable (ground) and levae it of for 10 minutes re connect it and see fi ti works if so it was just in logic lock. if it still doesn't work then it's more then likley the DIC Driver Info Center is bad. you can get one from an GM dealership we order them from exchange remanufacture facilities. We do not repair them. No dealer does. The part is pl;ug and play there is not programming or set up neeeded so just take the center pod off and swap the info center out and your good to go. good luck :-}
