Pontiac Repair: abs system 2008 gran prix, rear hubs, brakepads

Question
I have a 2008 gran prix.  My husband changed the brakepads and rotors on the front very recently. He knows what he is doing.   The anti locks brakes are not working and we are not so sure the ever have.  I bought the car in 2009. We do not even see the anti lock light flash on when we first start the car.

Answer
Hi Diana:

Depending on the trim level of this car if it was an ex rental car it may not have been equipped with ABS. My own personal car is a 2008 Impala and it doesn't have ABS. It's a price point when they are ordered ABS adds to the price of the car. I bought a low trim level car. Your may be the same way. If the car is equipped with ABS there should be a wire harness going to the front and rear hubs on the car if there are no wire harness going to the hubs it's not equipped with it. Changing the brake pads and rotors will not make the ABS quit working. Hope that helped you out :)
