Pontiac Repair: 2000 Montana ignition problem, remote starters, remote start

Hi Tim, we were just given a 2000 Montana but lately we've had issues with starting it.  If you unlock the doors with the key instead of the remote starter the van won't start.  More often than non it won't start with the key, just with the remote starter.  Do I just need to have my PK3 key reprog?  Can I bypass the whole anti theft system?

sounds like you have an issue with the remote start causing the anti theft to act up.  I would disconnect the remote start and see how it functions if all seems well then the remote start is the issue, if it still is failing, might need an ignition switch.  We do not recommend remote starters due to the many issues they can cause if improperly installed
