Pontiac Repair: SECURITY LITE, granam, body control module

Question
2000 PONTAIC GRANAM SECURITY LITE COMES ON.

Answer
Hey Darryl:

Well that light comes on for one reason. There is a failure in the anti-theft system in this car. more than likely the sensor in the ignition lock housing has gone bad and luckily it went bad while you were driving it one time that's why the light is on and it sort of goes into a default and allows you to start your car. if you have a battery go dead and jump it or charge it your not going to be able to start this car. so get it fixed sooner rather than later. There is a slim chnace that the body control module is the fauly but I doubt it. It's bbet it failed on you this way then it fail when youi are trying to start the car same thing the car will not start then. good luck :)
